Swingman

Private beta · UK

Practice that knows
what to work on.

A phone camera that catches every swing. A launch monitor that measures every shot. Swingman puts the two side by side and tells you what to work on. Bring both, or start with either.

The range start screen: a big START button, the club, and where to put the phone

How it works

Set it up. Hit balls. Get one thing to work on.

Shown on demo data.

  1. 1

    Set the phone down

Pick your club, tap start and prop it behind the ball. Swingman counts every swing for you: no taps between shots.

Range mode while you hit: the swings counted so far, readable from the bay
  2. 2

    Hit balls

Every swing is caught and kept in sets, with the carry and side from your monitor or the range's tracer beside it.

A session: each swing with its numbers
  3. 3

    Get one thing to fix

The coach reads the pattern across shots and sessions and gives you one fault and a drill for it, not a hundred numbers.

Coach: one focus and the next drill
  4. 4

    Watch it work

Review swings, compare them, and see your real yardages build from your own shots.

My yardages, from your own shots

Two sensors, one coach

Best together. Good alone.

Video shows you the swing. The monitor shows you the result. Swingman is built for both at once, and stands up on its own with either.

Camera + launch monitor

The full picture. Every swing on video with its numbers beside it, drills judged on the data and shown in the footage, and a coach that can point at the frame as well as the number.

Launch monitor only

The coach on its own. Your monitor's numbers become one fault to fix, a drill, and a measured verdict on whether it worked. Live over Open Connect or from a CSV after the session.

Camera only

A swing logbook for any range. Prop the phone up and every swing is caught, kept in sets, played back at the pause, and ready to compare or share with a coach.

Why Swingman

The two halves of practice, in one place

Monitor apps show you numbers. Video apps show you a swing. Neither tells you what to fix.

Typical of what we found reviewing about forty golf apps in October 2026. Individual apps differ and change: if we have one wrong, tell us.

The coach

From a hundred numbers to one thing to fix

A launch monitor tells you what happened. Swingman tells you why, what to do about it, and whether it's working.

1

Diagnose

Ball flight and club delivery are read against the ball-flight laws: path, face, attack angle, spin, strike. A fault only becomes your focus when it shows up across shots and sessions, so one bad swing never redirects your practice.

2

Prescribe

Each fault maps to drills with a plain setup, the reason it works, the mistakes people make, and the numbers that should move if it's working.

3

Measure

Hit a set doing the drill. Swingman compares it with your baseline, checks for side effects and over-correction, and gives a verdict: keep going, switch drill, or graduate.

The camera

See the swing, not just the result

Prop a phone up behind the ball and Swingman catches every swing, keeps them in sets, and plays them back at the pause, with the ball data beside each one when you have it.

Hands-free capture

Each swing is detected and kept, with a count you can read from the bay. No taps between shots, no sounds, nothing to wear.

Compare

Two swings side by side or overlaid, aligned phase by phase from address to finish. See what changed, not just what the numbers say.

Share

Send a session to a coach or a friend for their eyes only, and get their comments pinned to the exact frame.

Your hardware

Works with the monitor you already own

Swingman is the coach, not the sensor. It speaks GSPro Open Connect, the open protocol most launch monitors already use, and imports the CSV your monitor's app exports.

  • Live over Open Connect from Square Golf, FlightScope Mevo, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, Uneekor, Bushnell Launch Pro and any other monitor with a GSPro connector.
  • CSV import after the session. Square Golf exports are tested today; the importer learns other apps' columns as real files arrive, so send us yours.
  • Measured and estimated, told apart. The coach knows which numbers your device measures and which it derives, and weighs them accordingly.

Principles

Built the way a coach should be

Your data is yours

Your shots and footage export in one tap and are never behind a paywall. No ads, no trackers, nothing sold on.

Rules you can read

Every diagnosis comes from a written rule with a threshold, not a black box. When the coach is wrong, the rule gets fixed.

Honest confidence

Each finding says how sure it is and why: sample size, data quality, whether your swings agree. Video-only observations are labelled as a second opinion.
